Valley Kids PlayFest

Valley Kids PlayFest is a family-friendly celebration designed to bring children and communities together through the power of play.

Launched in 2023 by SteamRocket through a partnership with ChangeX and The LEGO Foundation, Valley Kids PlayFest was created to celebrate International Day of Play and highlight the importance of giving children space to explore, imagine, create, and connect.

What began as a summer celebration has grown into a seasonal community experience—now kicking off and closing out summer with signature events, along with pop-up PlayFest experiences throughout the year.

From board games and art activities to music, interactive challenges, and creative play experiences, PlayFest offers something for every child. Each event is designed to spark imagination, encourage connection, and remind families that play is an essential part of learning and growing.

Through partnerships with the City of Desert Hot Springs, the City of Indio, and the Indio Library, SteamRocket has brought PlayFest to families throughout the Coachella Valley. Community partners, including Pop-Up Flix CV and MicroFire, have helped expand the experience and create unforgettable moments for local children.
