Valley Kids PlayFest Returns for Día del Niño Celebration

We're excited to announce that Valley Kids PlayFest is returning to celebrate Día del Niño (Children's Day) on Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 3:00pm to 5:00pm at Little Street Music Hall in Indio.

The Magic of Play

Play isn't just fun—it's fundamental to how children learn and grow. In our digital world, hands-on, imaginative play opportunities are more valuable than ever. Valley Kids PlayFest creates a space where children can explore, create, and connect through board games, art activities, and sensory experiences with colors and sounds.

Last year, we welcomed nearly 300 families to our International Day of Play celebration, and the joy was contagious. Children discovered new games alongside parents and grandparents, friendships formed over collaborative art projects, and families left with smiles and stories to share.

"When we watch children fully immersed in play, we're witnessing learning in its most natural form," shares Elle Decker, co-founder of SteamRocket. "Their creativity flourishes, they practice social skills, and they solve problems—all while simply having fun. That's the beautiful power of play we're celebrating with Valley Kids PlayFest, and we're grateful to the City of Indio for helping us bring this experience to our community."

A Play Experience for Everyone

What makes Valley Kids PlayFest special is its ability to bring people of all ages together. We've designed activities that appeal to everyone from toddlers to grandparents, creating meaningful connections across generations. In our tech-free environment, families rediscover the simple joy of playing together.

Valley Kids PlayFest was first developed in 2024 through our collaboration with ChangeX and The LEGO Foundation. The enthusiastic response from our community showed us how much families value these opportunities to play and connect, which is why we're thrilled to partner with the Indio Library to bring it back for Día del Niño.
